If you transfer shares of the same company purchased on different dates to Upstox, you can use the 'Split Trade' feature. This tool enables you to record the purchase date for each batch of shares separately, along with their respective average prices.

Step 1: Log into your Upstox account.

Step 2: Click on your profile name displayed at the top-right corner of the screen and select ‘Reports & Corporate Actions.

Step 3: Click on 'Holdings' → 'Discrepancy'.

Step 4: Select the shares that need to be updated. Click on ‘update’.

Step 5: Click on the 'Split Trade' option (incase of different purchase dates).
Step 6: Enter the details like purchase date, transferred quantity, average price and type.
Step 7: Click on 'Save’.

Example:
10 shares of TCS were transferred on 23rd June 2023 and later 20 shares of TCS were transferred on 4th December 2023. In such cases the purchase date and the average price of these shares may differ and therefore you can use the ‘split function’ (as mentioned in the steps above) and enter the purchase date and the average price.
