The following are the definitions of different terms you will see on the 'Funds/Wallet' page:
1. Opening Balance: This is the amount of cash available in the trading account at the beginning of the day.
2. Added Funds: Successful amount added on the same day.
3. Withdrawn Funds: Successful amount withdrawn on the same day.
4. Amount from stock sale: Amount credited/received from selling holding stocks.
5. Total Cash:
Total Cash is the sum of the following components:
a. Available to Trade.
b. Margin Used.
c. Unavailable to Trade.
This amount is updated whenever any of the following occur:
a. Fund deposits or withdrawals.
b. A trade order is placed.
c. Shares are pledged for collateral margin.
d. You sell your holdings.
6. Available to Trade:
The ‘Available to Trade’ balance is updated whenever any of the following occur:
a. Funds are deposited into your Upstox account.
b. Stocks sell in the Equity Delivery segment (from your Demat account).
7. Margin Used:
The ‘Margin Used’ represents the funds utilized for trading from your available balance. This may happen in the following scenarios:
a. Buying stocks in the Equity Delivery segment.
b. Buying or short-selling stocks in the Equity Intraday segment.
c. Trading Futures & Options (Intraday or Delivery).
d. Carrying forward an open Futures or Options position (on the short side).
When you sell a delivery position, the receivable amount appears as a negative ‘Margin Used.’ This occurs when:
a. Stocks are sold in the Equity Delivery segment (from your Demat account).
b. Positions are sold (on the buy-side) in the Options segment.
8. Unavailable to Trade:
Unsettled Profits: It refers to the day-to-day profits on your positions, which fluctuate in line with the prevailing market prices.
9. Recent Transactions: In the "Recent Transactions" section, you can view all recent transactions, including Pay-in, Pay-out, brokerage and other charges, maintenance fees, rewards, and interest/penalties for the last 15/30 days.
10. Available to Withdraw: This represents the total cash available for withdrawal from your account.
11. Total Collateral: Total Collateral is the sum of the following:
Equity: The amount received from pledging shares or ETFs stocks, which can be used for trading.
Mutual Funds: The amount received from pledging Liquidbees ETFs or liquid mutual funds, which can be used for trading.
12. SPAN: Exchanges use the Standard Portfolio Analysis of Risk (SPAN) to calculate the risk and margins for Futures & Options (F&O) positions.
13. Exposure: In addition to the SPAN margin, exchanges charge an exposure margin to cover risks that may not be accounted for by the SPAN margin.
14. View Deposit and Withdrawals:
Deposits: You can view all your successful and failed fund transactions.
Withdrawals: You can view all your completed withdrawal transactions.
